Judge Wig Gray
English Judge Wig as A Historical Hairstyle & Costume Accessory
English judges are famous for their judge's wig. The more than 300-year-old tradition of wearing a judge's curly wig is still a matter of course today. Following pressure from the public, it was agreed in 2007 that the judges' wig would no longer be used in civil trials, but in criminal trials, judges will continue to dispense justice in their old robes and judges' wigs, thus reducing the risk of dissatisfied convicts finding them out later. The judges' wigs and their curly hair are intended to keep the judges anonymous and also set them apart from the rest of the people.
Our shoulder-length, classic judge wig has gray curls and should not be missing at any mock execution. The grey judge wig is particularly popular as a men's wig in connection with our Hangman Hood Black and Jason Vorhees Axe. The historical judge wig with the Rectangular glasses looks even more serious and severe.
