Lipstick, lip gloss & lip liner

Lipstick has always been one of the most important make-up utensils and probably dates back to 3500 BC.
The history of made-up lips stretches from Nefertiti through the Baroque period to the 1920s, when lipstick was first put into a proper case.
In many cultures lip make-up was common, but in others it was forbidden. While the Greeks only considered it chic for artists and love servants to appear with made-up lips, in Japan it was obligatory for rich women to appear with made-up lips. Red lips even once stood for the self-determination of women: When the suffragettes started their march through New York in 1912, they all wore lipstick!
Colored lips were and still are part of rituals, ceremonies or simply for beautification. Today, lipstick is the most sold cosmetic product in the world and can be found in almost every color.

Lipstick

Choose the right lipstick colour for your desired character. This can then be applied with the lipstick itself or with a lipstick brush. If the lipstick is to be used for more than one person, always use a lipstick brush or applicator! When applying the lipstick, always start at the corner of the mouth and move it from there over the entire lip area. It is important that the lipstick colour does not extend beyond the actual lips. After you are done with the make-up of the lips, press both lips together, which distributes the lipstick evenly.

Tips

  • Outline the lips with a lip liner beforehand to make the contour easier to follow
  • Before the first application of the lipstick, powder the lips.
  • While applying the lipstick, tighten the lips.
  • Finally, apply a little lip gloss to set the lipstick in place.

Lipliner

The lip liner is an indispensable aid for setting off your mouth with lipstick without it losing its contour. First apply the lipliner as a contour and then colour in your lips with lipstick. Make sure that the contouring lipstick colour and the lipstick colour match. Lip liner is a great way to contour, shade and even out lips.

Lip gloss

Lips treated with lip gloss, also called lip gloss, usually shine in a wet look or have glitter particles. Many types of lip gloss nourish the lips, provide a longer lasting lipstick colour and conceal small lip wrinkles.
